Prayer
The Words I Write For You
I cried today when I came to You.
Filled with emotions and overwhelmed too.
I told You my fears, my worries and cares,
As I came to You on my knees in prayer.
I want to give You all I can give,
I want to please You by the way that I live.
I long to do what You want me to do,
Everyday Lord I long to be true.
I don't want to hide my love for You.
I want the whole world to know You are true.
I want every child, woman and man,
To know You're the reason that life began.
In my own home Lord help me to show,
That You are the only way to go.
Help me be loving and patient too,
With my husband and kids all day through.
Make me a light so that all will see,
That You are living inside of me.
With words I say and words I write,
Help me to show Your power and might.
Lord I love songs and poetry too,
I write about You and how You are true.
I pray You can use a simple housewife,
That maybe my words can touch someone's life.
I know that I struggle on many days,
And sometimes I miss my hour of praise.
I often fall short and don't honour You,
By some of the things I say and do.
But give me the words I will write,
About Your love all though the night.
I feel so excited and honoured too,
That You chose me to write about You.
Then show me Lord what you want me to do,
With each of the poems that I write for You.
Right now they just sit in my bookshelf at home,
Oh heavenly Father, please use each poem.
